Are work being cheeky?

I know we all love a cheeky fucker thread so here goes, I just can’t decide.

So, I have epilepsy which is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act. I’ve had three hospital admissions this year due to status (eg continuous seizures which could only be stopped by intravenous drugs). Work have basically said that i’m Not pulling my weight 🤦‍♀️

Now the CF bit is this. We are understaffed by about 6 staff members. It means that each person is meant to do about 1.5 of a job. Yes, they’ve taken work off me but I’m still doing 1 full day. It just means that the 50% extra that I’m not paid for or contracted to do is now being done by the others in my team. Yes of course I feel bad about that but I feel i’m Getting the blame when really they should cough up for more staff!!

For clarity, i’m Doing what i’m Being paid to do but am getting into trouble for not doing unpaid extra 🤦‍♀️😬

If your doing your job as in what your paid for, then it’s the company’s fault for not having enough staff. Epilepsy or not, you don’t need to work extra for no extra benefits your not there to do them a favour at the end of the day. They are you employer not friends. As long as you pull your weight then the rest is their problem :)

Thanks both of you. It’s always really hard when they play nice and then pull something like that out. My big manager is a real workaholic though and works 70-80 hour weeks so I think she judges us by her own standards. It’s not our fault she can’t delegate but she tries to make us (me) look bad just because she can’t get her work done in the allotted time.
