Natural History or Science Museum?

We're taking our two eldest DC to London at the weekend to watch the England match. We have a few hours to kill on Sunday morning before travelling home to Cornwall so thinking about taking them to one of the above. They are 12 and 10. Which one would you opt for... Natural History or Science museum?

Natural history. We went to both this summer. My kids are 8, 10 and 11. The 2 eldest found the majority of the science museum a bore. They only enjoyed the space exhibit.

Probably wouldn't manage the entire natural history in a couple of hours though.

Or, you could have a look online and decide what bits of each they'd really enjoy and do bits from both museums? They're right next door to each other

YY to what upsidedown said - they're right next to each other, so have a look online at what bits from each the DC would like to do and do both.

Do a bit of both.

Depends where their interests lay. I wouldn't try and do both, I'd do one properly .

You used to be able to walk through from one straight into the other.

Science museum, much more interactive!
Level 3 is great for those ages :)

cantfindname · 05/09/2019 17:50

Science museum. Mine used to love all the interactive stuff, we spent hours there every summer.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 05/09/2019 17:54

My boys (aged 9 and 6) love the Natural History Museum. It's always their first port of call when we go to London. But it's a whole day trip imo.

I personally find the science museum a bit...dare I say it...boring. It's not as hands on as the natural history museum.

Neither. V&A.

Get infomation about both, analyse it with your children and ask them what they fancy.
At those ages it's possible they have an opinion. Wink

Do both. They’re literally round the corner from each other. Both have good things! Ds loved the dinosaurs at the natural history but liked the interactive bits at the science museum.

Stompythedinosaur · 05/09/2019 20:42

I'd say the Science Museum is better too.

We didn't like the Natural History museum, far to busy to see some things. Some very tired looking exhibits.
