well...not literally...but please would you share any fantastic recipes please?

Friends over next week, they are bringing a "very nice bottle of red"...want something good to eat with it that will do it justice.

Long day at work that day so want something I can make on Monday and just reheat and serve with mash and veg.

Have done Mary Berry's Beef Latimer (and it is llluuusshhh)- but have cooked this for them a couple of times so would like something different...

Thank you

I slow cook diced beef in a couple of Oxo, then add....
Potatoes
Carrots.
Peas.
Onions.
Half tin of baked beans.
Quarter teaspoon medium curry powder.
Splash of brown sauce.
Glug of port.
I thicken it up with cornflower.
Then I make giant Yorkshire puddings and serve it up in those.
Alternatively I will make pancakes to line the plate and put the stew on top of that.
Either way is a winner with my lot.

Google hairy bikers beef bourginion. Delicious.

Make it look fancy by squashing the rice into a ramekin and then putting the plate over the top of it and turning it over to make a perfect "sandcastle' of rice. Obviously do this before adding the bourginion. Serve with green beans.

I always add anchovies and balsamic vinegar to a beef stew. Adds a richness of taste. I got the idea from Nigella.

Stupid question but when you reheat do you use the hob or the oven? How long and what temp? Thank you 🙏
