Calgary and Banff trip help!

Hiya, I'm going to be in Calgary/Banff for approximately a week in October. I am panicking and struggling to find anything affordable.

I will not be able to hire a car as my licence is less than a year old. I really don't know what to do.

Everything is so expensive and vast....please any suggestions would be amazing!

Are you hostelling? The Roam bus runs around town and currently out to Johnston Canyon/ Lake Louise etc. You’d have to check the webpage as I don’t know when it switches out of summer schedules.
There are a couple of bus companies that drive between - the airporter if you are coming straight from airport, but onit and Brewster too. Locals sometimes use poparide. I have a couple of friends that swear by it.
Depends what you are planning on doing really. Obviously all the hiking is free if you can get to the trailheads. Larch season though, so hotels might be rammed.
