Self motivation

Anyone got any tips for staying motivated whilst working in a fairly unexciting role? I’ve gone & increased my hours purely for ££££ so I will have more tasks to complete, working alone 70% of the time.

I often write lists so I can gleefully cross things off, add up how many tasks I have/emails in inbox and count down throughout the day - gosh I sound like such a child but it does help!

Any other ideas?

Hi Workerbeee,

Before our time at MNHQ we've been there, done that. We feel your pain!

We'd always advise trying to break your day into segments so you plan screen breaks and actual breaks. Having a goal of ££ or time to work towards sometimes help motivate too but it sounds like you're doing a good job so far.

Listening to an audio book or podcast might be an option? That would help the hours fly by.

We hope our post will have bumped this for you but if you don't get any replies then do feel free to re-post in Jobs if you'd like....

Good luck getting through the hours!

I like the pomodoro technique when I have to plough through things: lifehacker.com/productivity-101-a-primer-to-the-pomodoro-technique-1598992730
