Soap/Scrub/Shampoo bars but not from Lush?

Looking to switch to soap and shampoo bars but I don’t want to buy from lush. Ideally looking for a scrub bar and if it has tea tree in it then extra bonus. No idea where to start with shampoo and conditioner bars though.

I like The Friendly Soap Company for soap, the one with peppermint is my favourite. I like their shampoo too but I've changed to Bain & Savon shampoo bars, the coconut milk one is lovely and I like the square shape.

I use wild-sage.co.uk for shampoo & soap bars. They’ve got a rosemary & tea tree soap.

Sorry to hijack- shampoo bar newbie here!! Can anyone recommend a moisturising and softening one? Do they also do conditioner?
Thanks in advance to anyone who has suggestions - I'm really trying to reduce my plastic use and my bathroom is the worst culprit at present!

Thanks, will go take a look. Treat me like an idiot, do you break a bit off or rub your whole head with the bars?

I've started using Dove unscented. Not as harsh as soap and they come in cardboard packs.

(On my skin not my hair).

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 02/09/2019 21:39

I love Palm Free Irish Soap company products.

whoaherewego · 02/09/2019 21:39

I haven't bought them yet but I really want to try the Hairy Jayne shampoo and conditioner. I liked her normal shampoo so hoping the bar one is good too.

I’ve tried a few brands but my favourite is Friendly Soap as above, great shampoo and soap bars and they have just introduced a conditioner bar. Some I’ve tried have left my hair feeling oily but not these. And no I don’t work for them! Smile

I've found I don't need to condition with my coconut milk Bain & Savon soap bar.

I've also found soap lasts longer if you use a flat loofah or soap bag.

Annoying spelling but I like the bars from a company called conchus. Their apple cider vinegar hair rinse spray is also great and I think you need it with a shampoo bar.

Disfordarkchocolate · 02/09/2019 22:14

I've never used a rinse @outnumbered77. I don't colour, straighten or even use a hairdryer so that may help. And I use a Manta hairbrush which is very kind to your hair.

I think Holland and Barrett have started selling them. I am sure I saw an advert in their window.

mamalovebird · 02/09/2019 22:18

Dr Botanicals do great soaps

OtraCosaMariposa · 02/09/2019 22:28

I'm using Funky Soap and find it very good.

Propertyofhood · 02/09/2019 22:47

I buy Savon de Marseille from Amazon or Ebay - tonnes of different flavours and they are great, and really good value as well.

I don't use shampoo/conditioner bars at the moment but am interested in Friendly Soap and the Bain and Savon ones... I have bleached hair that is pretty dry so I don't know how I would fare with them?

thatsfine · 02/09/2019 22:54

I use Friendly Soaps shampoo bars too and I love how my hair is cleaner for longer.
I used Lush bars for ages, but Friendly bars last longer too

Jasoneric · 03/09/2019 18:32

Hi, check out BECO. They do bars of soap and bars of shampoo. Organic ingredients and vegan. They're a great company to support because they employ visually impaired people, and those with other disabilities. You can find them in Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Boots. As well Ethical Superstore. Not only are they great for the environment but also a great social company 😊

MulticolourMophead · 03/09/2019 18:44

I avoided Lush, because their shampoo bars had SLS, etc, in them. Don't know if this is still the case, but I can't use anything with these chemicals UK n them.

Some of the ones on here look interesting.

homemadecommunistrussia · 03/09/2019 18:47

I like Beco too and would also recommend Bomb.

Soola · 03/09/2019 18:52

I’ve just started using Aleppo soap on my face and am liking it.

Vinorosso74 · 03/09/2019 19:01

www.littlesoapcompany.co.uk/

Only used the bars of soap which I have bought in Boots or Waitrose. I like them.
My hair is a nightmare with shampoos so haven't made the shift to bars from my safe shampoos.

Jamhandprints · 03/09/2019 19:02

@TreeSunset, I was assuming you rub the bar in your hands to make a lather, and then put that on your hair? Same as when you use a bar of soap to wash your hands...wait don't tell me you're so young you've never seen a bar of soap! Wink

dementedma · 03/09/2019 19:02

Willow and Plum do lovely soaps. I get my shampoo bars and conditioner bars from a local company called Foam Made. I just rub them on my head, rather than break a bit off. Be prepared for them not to lather as much as bottled products
