Hand hold? sympathy? some to tell me it will stop?!
DS 11 months went to bed at 6, woke at 11.15 and cried for ages, went back to sleep around 12, woke again at 1.15 and is still crying. We've tried bottle, nappy, calpol, ranetidine for reflux, cuddles, songs, leaving him, rocking him, taking him out of the situation and back to bed. We cannot figure out what's wrong. I think he's just so tired.
I'm nearing popping him in the car and driving around in the hope I can then transfer him back into his cot but it seems extreme.
Both have work in the morning, it's Dh's birthday too. Both have a half day to paint a new place we are moving into. Got half a mind to go in and book another day off in favour of an afternoon of sleeping tomorrow!! Help!

I'd definitely try the car thing, done it before in similar circumstances so doesn't seem that extreme to me!

We had the same thing with our 9 month old last night. She was restless at bedtime and didn't settle well. She kept stirring and then at about 10 she woke up and was wide awake. We tried all sorts but she just wouldn't go to sleep. Luckily I'm still BF so I kept trying that to help settle her and about 12:30 it finally worked and she fell asleep. She's done this once before too and I have no idea why.
Will you LO wake up if you try and move them from the car to their cot?

Thanks both. I've mastered transferring DS from car to cot so I've always got it to fall back on! After writing this, dh came in all smug that DS was asleep. I didn't think it would last but he slept from 2 till 5 then 5.15 went back down. I'm so tired I neeeeed caffeine today

Was there a full moon or something because after 19 long months my DC has just started to sleep semi-decently but last night was just horrendous!

Glad you managed to get a tiny bit of sleep at least - hope you have a good day with your DH and fingers crossed for some rest all round tonight!
