Occasional bed wetting

thaegumathteth · 02/09/2019 00:02

Dd is just 9. She was dry day and night at 2.5 but would have odd nights of wetting the bed up until she was almost 8. Nothing since.

Until the last 2/3 weeks where she's wet the bed 4 times including at a sleepover which really upset her.

She has a cub camp coming up and i don't know what to do. I know they do pyjama pants in larger sizes but there's no way she'd wear them and anyways I don't know why this is happening.

Has anyone any experience / advice?

I'm debating calling the GP for advice - I really don't want to take her if I can help it as I think it would really upset her.

During the day she is peeing normally btw.

Piss troll?

Wwydpooh · 02/09/2019 00:06

Could it be anxiety about the trip?

I'd talk to her about what she wants. She might say she wants the pull ups, or she may just not want to go.

It sounds more psychological than physical.

Er no not a piss troll!

I've tried talking to her and she says there's nothing wrong. Can't really think of anything in particular tbh all art from returning to school but she likes school?

Is she drinking more? Ask GP to test for T1 diabetes.

Are you out of routine for the holidays? Is she drinking later than usual and greater amounts due to the heat?
I’d keep an eye on it over the next few weeks as we settle back into term routine - maybe withdraw liquids after 6pm and remind her to go to the loo at bedtime. It should probably all be okay.

thaegumathteth · 02/09/2019 07:22

Thanks for replying. I don't think she's drinking more tbh - I have tried cutting down liquids after 6 and increasing them the rest of the day, no black currant etc.

I'd ask the GP - they'll probably test for a UTI.

I've handed in a sample so we'll see what that comes back with
