Au pair visa

Our au pair has almost reached the end of her one year contract w us and will be leaving in November.
As she was already in the UK when we made contact, I didn't have to deal w the drama of visa and passport applications.
I may have found our new au pair (from Ghana) and will be interviewing on Wednesday.

Does anyone know how and if someone from Ghana will get an au pair visa? I've look on a 'who can get a visa to work in the UK' website and it says people from Ghana can work in the UK.
I really just need to know about the process, who do I contact and how long does the process take? (we've got roughly 2 months)
I hope someone had dealings like this and is able to advice!

Stapleburg, I do not think au pairs are able to come from Ghana unless they have another form of work permit. Sorry!

...for the UK that is.

Ghanaians are not eligible to be au pairs in the UK. Assuming that is where you are based. They must be EU nationals (or EEA) or eligible for a youth mobility visa.

There are no au pair Visas. The only way a Ghanaian can au pair in the UK is if they have a grandparent who was born here and they can apply for an ancestry visa. Otherwise you’re limited to EU citizens, and those who can get a youth mobility visa (Australians, New Xealabders, Canadians).
