I've never had a tumble dryer before...

But have almost convinced myself to get one for this winter. My concern though is that it's going to have to live on the (reasonably large) landing on top of the stairs.

If I get a condenser one will it be ok on a carpet, and will it be ok ventilation wise?? Having never had one before I have no idea what kind of heat they put out into the house, will it be ok??

I'm hoping you're going to say yes it will be fine, and I won't have to speak yet another winter with washing draped all round the house taking days to dry!!

We have one on top of our washing machine if that's an option.

I've just ordered a new one. It's a heat pump one and they use very little electricity. I actually ordered and then cancelled a condenser dryer because it used three times as much electricity as the heat pump one. Heat pump ones are more expensive to buy but cheaper energy wise.

Our washer dryer is 10kg drum so our clothes come out like they've just been ironed.

@Ingurr what have you ordered? We need a new one.

Ingurr · 03/09/2019 16:29

Hello Wwydpooh, I've ordered an AEG T7DBG860N with an energy rating A+++ and a 2 yr guarantee . My second favourite was a Siemens iQ300 WT45M232GB with a A++ energy rating and a 5yr guarantee.
They are expensive but hopefully the electricity savings will make it worth it.
