I want a silent clock!

Please does anyone have a link to a silent clock. DS wants one in his room but the once’s I have seen make a noise and keep him awake. I have ordered an apparent “silent” clock from the internet and it wasn’t. I bought one from a (noisy) shop and they said they were on display and didn’t tick, it ticks!

Is there such a thing as a truly silent clock?

Be nice if it were colourful as it’s for my boys bedroom.

I have one, you are looking for a 'silent sweep' type.
Sometimes it is noisy but if I shake it then it goes quiet.

I had this one

and now have something like this but I can't be bothered to go upstairs and check the maker. (sorry)

I bought first one from my local jewellers, and after it broke through being dropped I bought the second from my local hardware shop.

For truly silent I think you'd need a digital clock as it won't have any moving parts. As soon as you get moving parts you get the chance of noise.

But beware of some digital clocks, the transformer in them buzzes! It is more annoying than the tick.

Our IKEA clock is surprisingly silent.

We have these: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01LZFNYLW/ref=psdcmw_376322011_t1_B01COBL2KO?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
Completely silent and both dc hands learned to tell the time with them.

We have those rainbow clocks (earlier models), both DC have them in their bedrooms they are genuinely silent. I love them

You're welcome! Even if I stand with my ear to the clock I can't hear a thing. The battery it came with didn't last long but both clocks have been fine with the new ones we put in and we've had them about 3 years now. My dc are 7&8 and both are able to tell the time with them.

Great! I hope your son likes it too Smile

On the back of that, can anyone recommend a bedside clock that doesn't light up the room like a lighthouse, even on dim?
