Just ask me for my credit card number.

littlemeitslyn · 01/09/2019 14:54

What???????

Aimee3 · 01/09/2019 15:20

Please ignore message from MmmBlowholes!! Not sure what is meant by that!

I guess you're a new poster.

This isn't a meet-up with strangers who have children site.

This is an open internet message board that anyone can read.

Aimee3 · 01/09/2019 16:04

BlankTimes - I am not a new poster, just posting a question to anyone who wants to Sensibly reply.

Aimee, you might be better putting this on the Local board for your area.

Aimee3 · 01/09/2019 16:22

Not sure how to do this??

What was the thread title meant to be?

SleepwalkingThroughLife · 01/09/2019 16:27

Onlies in Oxford I think.

picklemepopcorn · 01/09/2019 16:40

We're all supposed to be very sensible on MN, and not meet up with people we don't know in real life- you/we could be anyone, you know!

I'd try again, with a slightly fuller title and first message so it doesn't look like you're trawling for a hook up.

SistersOfMerci · 01/09/2019 16:46

Oxfordshire is quite a spread out county and parts very rural so I think you'd need to be more specific on area.

MmmBlowholes · 01/09/2019 17:00

I meant: your message reads like a scam.

Mummy3574 · 01/09/2019 17:04

There are lots of friendly mum groups in Oxford. Maybe look up Toddles and Waddles on Facebook - it is a gentle walking group around different parks in Oxford. But there is an associated WhatsApp group that has a lot of Oxford mum chat. I don't live there anymore but I miss the lovely community feel.

NerrSnerr · 01/09/2019 17:10

I'm not sure why the OP is getting all these arsey replies.

We're all supposed to be very sensible on MN, and not meet up with people we don't know in real life

We're not 'all supposed to be' anything on Mumsnet. It's a forum with autonomous users. There have also been many big Mumsnet meet-ups thought out the years.

I'm sure the OP isn't inviting someone to her house or a dark alley without meeting them first, probably to the park or soft play where she could safely meet someone.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/09/2019 17:19

Aimee click on Talk above, and topics, then A-Z, look under local for Oxfordshire. Or Report your own post, and ask if MN will move it to there for you.

Aimee3 · 01/09/2019 17:41

NerrSnerr - well said!! Thank you.

BalloonSlayer · 01/09/2019 18:55

I read the title and thought the thread was going to be about pretending you didn't go to a public school once you got in so that people would think you'd got better A levels than you actually did.

shinynewapple · 01/09/2019 22:42

Some weird responses. I thought Mumsnet had a board specifically for local meet-ups.

Hopefully you'll get some better responses if you ask MN to move your post to the appropriate board @Aimee3 . Good luck Smile
