Irish speakers.

I was talking to someone about people who speak Irish in Ireland and they referred to the either the areas or the people who speak the language with a term that I can't remember but I think I'll recognise if I see it written down.
Can anyone help?

The Gaeltacht is the name associated with the areas that speak Irish, maybe that it?

Irish speaking areas are Gaeltacht. The term for an Irish speaker is Gaelgeoir Smile
