Noise travelling between floors/walls of flats (not woo)

If you lived on the ground floor of a building with two floors above you, would you be able to hear heavy footsteps coming from the top floor?

Yes maybe. I used to live in a Victorian flat with high windows going up through suspended ceilings. You could hear so much it was awful!!
Now I live in an 80s semi & when the neighbours are upstairs in their house it sounds as if someone is walking round in my bedroom.

Thank you. Yes I think it must be possible too. We live in a 1960s block of flats.
