HELP High FSH at 34. Worried sick

I received blood results today which show my FSH level is 25.3 (taken on day 2 of cycle). The doctor simply said that they would have to be retaken next month to check, but could indicate the start of menopause! All googling I have done since indicates this is the case and that 25.3 is very high. I have just turned 34 and was not expecting this news. Have been trying to conceive since a MMC in Nov. I literally cannot function today and can’t stop worrying. Does anyone have any usual information about FSH levels? Any advice or info will be much appreciated

I'm a decade older than you. I've had a test and mine is just over 30. My doctor said it was borderline indication of perimenopause. She also said that the levels fluctuate a lot and it would need repeating between day 2 and 5 of cycle.

My body has decided not to have a period this cycle so still waiting to go do the test!

Try not to panic. I'm sorry about your mmc but these are common. Try and stay positive. Women do still conceive in perimenopause.. My doctor also tried to get me to have the coil!

Thank you for your kind response. I have read that levels can fluctuate, but I can’t help but feel it’s unlikely that they mine will fluctuate back into the normal level. I am trying to be positive about the fact that I’ve been pregnant in the last year (even though it ended with MMC) so my ovaries must still be doing something!

Awh, no don't think that way. From what I understand, they fluctuate significantly day to day for most women and doctors sometimes won't even use the test for that reason.

Give yourself a break. You must feel quite raw from your mc still. Just keep trying and try and keep positive. X
