What things have made your life easier?

For me it's Gousto and my washer dryer. Washing is so easy to get done now - chuck it in and pull it out when it's dry. Gousto takes all the thinking out of meal planning for me, acts as a shopping delivery service and has made me enjoy cooking again. DS also cooks with me now we do Gousto and is trying a much wider range of food.

What other things am I missing out on?

Robot hoover! Thought it was a silly gimmick but its brilliant! Does a great job and can be controlled remotely...

Cordless vacuum, dishwasher, window vacuum, steam mop, oven cleaning companies.

I find it sad that these are all household related!

Rachelover40 · 31/08/2019 12:46

Having a cleaner and going to the ironing shop.

@IamChipmunk
I loved my robot hoover too. Very much. Until it spooked the cat, the cat shit and the robot hoover attempted to hoover up said shit. There are no words for the aftermath. Scarred, I tell you. Scarred.

A slow cooker.
I work full time and after a bit of practice I can put a curry, chilli, Bolognese, soup or pasta sauce on in the morning and have it ready when I come through the door in the evening.
And it costs almost nothing to use Smile

I can’t get on with Gousto. Really tasty, but the time it takes to prep a new recipe is far more than I’d typically spend cooking. So I end up ordering 3-4 meals a year from them, and then just adding them to my rotation. Using them more often feels like work!

Mine is not adventurous - childcare for DD once a week even though I SAH. She’s two, I need the headspace, even if the minder wasn’t doing enriching educational activities non-stop she’d still be totally worth it.

I use all the Gousto recipes but just order the ingredients myself with my weekly shop as I find it's cheaper that way.

I recently bought a Joie 360 spin car seat and it's been a game changer for me!

@alittlebitdemented I can imagine the carnage!! Luckily we have a dog not a cat and she has no interest whatsoever! She also sleeps in the utility room so we can just shut that door!

Cats aside, a robot Hoover is a good investment!

2L water bottles! I used to have this problem where I'd "forget" to drink water on abnormally busy/stressful days. With a 2L bottle, I have a sort of visual guideline as to where I am in terms of hydration. Does wonders for my skin imo.

Shopping trolley. Mine is 15 years old and still going strong.
Slow cooker
Heated air dryer
Rice cooker - keeps the rice warm for up to 4 hours post cooking.
