Bra size help

Sadbadglad · 31/08/2019 10:38

I am wearing a 40D but although the back is comfortable, I have slight over cup spillage

I measure in my bra, 40 across but 48 over.

Anyone know? Thank you

dementedpixie · 31/08/2019 10:48

Did you measure with the bra off? You should

Sadbadglad · 31/08/2019 10:51

I'd save myself the headache and just go to M and S to be measured/fitted.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 31/08/2019 11:04

Don't go to M&S! They still do that daft add 4inches crap.

Visit Boob or Bust website and follow their instructions.

NoBaggyPants · 31/08/2019 11:15

Another vote for don't go to M&S. On those measurements they'll put you in a 44D!

NoBaggyPants · 31/08/2019 11:18

Here's the Boob or Bust calculator.

booborbust.com/

It's generally accurate but may come up with too big a cup size if your on the saggy side. If so I'd try a few different cup sizes around where it suggests, which is good practice anyway as all manufacturers differ a little.

HeavenlyEyes · 31/08/2019 12:11

please don't go to M&S! Boob or Bust is the way to go,

fancytiles · 31/08/2019 13:37

Yep don't go to m&s!! They continually put me in the wrong size- link above is a good indication

pistolknight · 31/08/2019 13:45

@bendandbreak if you’ve been measured in m and s youre wearing completely the wrong size

Ribeebie · 31/08/2019 14:10

Another vote for boob or bust

sohypnotic · 31/08/2019 14:31

Definitely try the boob or bust measuring method. I was measured as a 40E post pregnancy at M&S, but always felt uncomfortable, and couldn't bear underwired. Fed up of wearing poorly fitting unsupportive maternity things, I tried the boob or bust method thanks to another MN thread. It calculated 38G / GG, I was skeptical because it sounded huge, but tried it and was amazed. Still have had a bit of trial and error to find the right shapes and brand, but eventually did, and have managed to wear an underwire bra for a full day for the first time in about 6 years lol!

Knitclubchatter · 31/08/2019 14:38

Every manufacturer is slightly different. Go somewhere that carries a lot of different brands and try them on. Be open to a range of sizes.

Sadbadglad · 31/08/2019 15:45

Thank you. Boob or bust said 38FF.

I will just try on loads and see what feels right.

When you try on the 38ff put it on the loosest hook. As the bra loosens over time, you can then move in a hook.

A smaller band size will feel too tight to start with, but will become comfortable. Remember to sweep and cup all boob round into the cup. Also, if it definitely feels too small or you get a 4boob situation, go up a cup size before thinking of moving up a band size.

Different cup styles will also work for different types of boob - boob or bust also advise what up style works for your boob type.

DrCoconut · 31/08/2019 19:33

The size that feels and looks best on me is between my M+S style size and my BoB size?
