So the past year has been MANIC- we started building our house last August, in the meantime we've had a baby girl (born Feb) we also have DS age 3 and half yrs. DH is doing the build , running the site etc (he's a bricklayer by trade but will do pretty much anything on site) so this means he's spent A LOT of time working on the house, leaving me doing the lions share of childcare, housework, life admin, etc etc (we also LIVE in the house with the work going on so it's constant cleaning tidying keeping on top of things!) . It's been tough and lonely & I've had no time to myself at all. Anything I want to do I'm having to do with 2 kiddies in tow... I just want a day to myself whereby I can relax and not speak to another soul if I don't want to 😂- so DH has told me to book a spa day for myself (my preferred choice of activity which I love) , 2 x 60 minute treatments, use of all hotel facilities, and a lovely afternoon tea with 🥂 to finish off the day, I am absolutely BUZZING. Just to be able to sit and do NOTHING, and not talk to any one! DH said to take a friend but I literally can not think of anything worse 🤣🤣I just want to be free to do what I want without time restrictions, thinking of anyone else's needs etc- I'm ecstatic 😁😁 So I just had to share it with someone. As I'm not telling anyone in real life Cos I know one of my (lovely and dear) friends will offer to come along and I don't want them to ! Ha ha ha 😈

That sounds fantastic! I’m quite jealous!

Orchidflower1 · 30/08/2019 17:20

Enjoy!!

baffledbeyondbelief · 30/08/2019 17:30

Gosh that sounds AMAZING!! Something I'd love to do.... off to drop some hints about my birthday Wink

chucke · 30/08/2019 17:34

Get him to chuck in an overnight stay!

FizzPopping · 30/08/2019 18:16

Sounds fantastic and well deserved!

BearRabbitPants · 30/08/2019 18:29

He did offer to pay for me to stay overnight ! But I'm leaving at 8:30am to get to the hotel for 9:15, and I will be staying till the very end of the day (day pass is valid till 5pm) so I think I should be fully rested by then anyway. He'll be putting kids to bed and getting us a takeaway that night for sure though lol 😝

sounds like a perfect day! I'd also keep the day to myself and not invite anyone Grin

BearRabbitPants · 30/08/2019 19:34

DH thinks I'm so weird 🤣But I'm quite 'anti social' anyway so for me it's not weird at all. He's the social butterfly out of us two !

Amazing! Take a good book and enjoy the peace!!

ApplesinmyPocket · 30/08/2019 21:05

It sounds lovely! What a thoughtful DH you have. I hope you have a wonderful time!

You'll have to come back afterwards and tell us about the tea, etc. Is there a pool? I love paddling around in a hotel pool and then a sit in the jacuzzi just thinking my own thoughts.

SeraphinaDombegh · 30/08/2019 21:08

That sounds like bliss OP! ESPECIALLY the doing it alone bit, and I'm an extrovert Grin

MadameJosephine · 30/08/2019 21:17

I got a voucher for my birthday and did a spa day all by myself this week, it was wonderful. Enjoy!

DariaMorgendorffer · 30/08/2019 21:24

Sounds like absolute bliss! Enjoy op.

Simonsaysitschristmas · 30/08/2019 21:45

Ah so lucky OP! Please come back and tell us all about it - it sounds heavenly to me

Nogodsnomasters · 30/08/2019 22:05

Oh I bet you can't bloody wait! I'm jealous 😍 you deserve it by the sounds of things. Hope the house is finished soon!

BearRabbitPants · 31/08/2019 08:56

@MadameJosephine oooh sounds fab- glad you enjoyed. I'm going to purchase some magazines something I have not done for years and wallow on a lounger next to the pool 😆. It's not till November as we have a lot on in Sept with the house renovations and 2 birthdays and a weekend away in Oct, but it's still something to really look forward to 😁! I'll update my post when I'm there!

I love a spa day! Sounds fabulous OP and just what you need and deserve.

icanhearapindrop · 31/08/2019 09:19

Oh wow! Sounds amazing! I have never been to a spa, but was looking at booking one the other day, and was wondering whether to go on my own or with a friend, so I’ll be interested in how you get on (it will probably take me until next year to book it!!)
