Drinks party

If we have a drinks party starting at 1:30pm on a Sunday during the run up to Christmas do you think we can get away with just cheese board and canapés or will we have to lay out a full buffet?

People will expect food unless you're very clear that it's cheese only or you start a bit later.

If you push until 2pm, definitely just nice snacks. 1:30 is still a bit borderline

You do know it’s still August?!!! 😂

Make it 2pm and finger food would be fine

Start it after 2pm and invite people to "drinks and a mince pie" or similar. We do Christmas drinks like that. We supply 3-4 sweet options and similar savoury finger foods (inc. Cheese board). No one seems to expect more food.

I'm sure the op knows.

It was somewhat tongue-in-cheek

2pm it is.

Have to get it organised early to secure my social butterfly friends
