I'm getting married soon and DP and I have been discussing surnames. We are wanting to double-barrel our names but really don't want to go through the hassle of changing it formally. We are quite happy to keep our own surnames for official use, banks, passports etc, but will change it to double-barelled on social media and tell our friends and family.
Has anyone done this, we assume that we can do this as far as the UK law is concerned?
