Slipknot... would you go with your 15 year old

15yo teen desperate to see Slipknot in concert, has never been to a concert and none of the friends are keen on this group.

my question is, would YOU go to the concert with your teen (who wouldn't mind, despite you being a 59 year old gimmerGrin)?

or woukd you let teen go in alone, and you just hang around at nearby restaurant?

or just move on, and hope teen forgets about this?

Oh my god yes of course you should go! Believe me you will not be the eldest there either, a lot of older people enjoy all sorts of rock music and I've seen so many at previous gigs/concerts including a slipknot one I went to around 3 years ago.
I'm actually insanely jealous!! I'm unable to go as I'll be heavily pregnant at the time and my partner has forbid it for mine and baby's safety.
I'm sure you'll have a great time, they are fantastic live and always play some of the classics 🙂

Im jealous, i would love to see them and we nearly the same age.
Be prepared for it to be loud.
I saw hell yeah and it hurt. Saw stone sour, not quite so loud,

My son goes to loads of metal concerts and never had any hassle.

Great move, my dad came with me to an iron maiden gig when I was 15 and had a great time!

TheCanyon · 29/08/2019 20:07

My first proper gig was slipknot when I was 15, valentines day 2002.

Have been to a fair few rock/metal gigs with my dp's and always had a good time.

Enjoy yerself op Grin

Definitely go. No one will notice or care that you're older. Metal crowds are friendly, I've never had trouble and I've been going to metal concerts for 15 years.

Maybe warn him about the mosh pit though, if he's never been in one he could maybe hang around the sidelines and see how it works.

I'm in my thirties now and going in Jan, but I first went ages 14 with a chaperone.

They have sadly died since and I often think about the fact they sat through Slipknot just so I could go. It's one of the best gigs I've ever been to, to this day.

Go and make his year, he won't forget it. Also the new album is brilliant so you never know, you might become a fan Grin
