Recommendations for nice bars in Liverpool please!

It’s my birthday today and DH has surprised me with a night out in a fancy hotel in Liverpool Planning on going to Leaf on Bold Street, but that’s the only bar I know in the area (we live in North Wales). Any recommendations for other nice places would be fab!

Anyone? Pretty please?

Berry and Rye is very atmospheric and 5 mins from Leaf! We also like to go for a glass of cava and tapas pudding at Neon Jamon (also on Berry St.)

Apart from that, the pubs are brilliant if you like pubs. The Grapes, and a little further into the Georgian Quarter is the Caledonia which usually has good live music. You'll probably stumble across a few more nice places - there's plenty to choose from!

Flanagan’s Apple. My favourite Irish bar ever! It’s further down in the town centre on Matthew Street. Live music every night.

Panoramic 34 has an amazing view. You'll probably need to book, even if you're only going for a drink.

I like The Pen Factory and Jenever on Hope Street.

Oh, and The Caledonia just off Hope Street is a brilliant pub.

Another vote for Berry and Rye but you may have to queue to get in (they only let enough people in so everyone can sit down).

Papillon on Hope St is new and meant to be lovely.

Papillon looks good. It does break my heart though that Host is gone.

We are staying in the Doubletree by Hilton... DH pushes the boat out just had a fabulous meal in Mowgli, heading out to check out some of the suggestions on here. Thanks again :)
