We've had the normal microchip flap for ages with issue. Stopped random cats coming in.
We then got a house kitten and the flap is no use as ay cat can go out. So bought a dual scan one instead. So only the older cat can go out (and in). Stops kitten escaping.
It seemed to work ok the first week and then got intermittent. Cat was always asking to let out at the door and I realised it wasn't activating the flap. Reset the cat flap and it worked for a few days. This happened a few times.
DH in the mean time set his key work fob which has an RFID chip to the cat flap and this seems to work perfectly apart from one blip where it wouldn't open.
As of present his key fob opens the cat flap perfectly and the ct can't get in or out at all now.
I've emailed Sureflap who are responding but rather slowly. Answered a load of questions from them. I don't know the cat's chip number which they asked. I guess I can get the cat scanned to find out but I can't see that it matters? It worked for a bit so must be compatible with the flap, it worked perfectly for the old one?
I think they think it's my flap, and I can see why when the keyfob works ok. But why did the cat work for a bit? Dunno whether to buy a new flap or get the cat rechipped?
