I’m watching yesterday’s episode. Is one episode filmed over one day or two? I thought it was filmed over one day and it was a very long day but they are just doing the show stopper and they said good morning and shown as if it’s the next day but they have the same clothes on??

One of them just said ‘like yesterday’ but they all have the same clothes on as the day before?

I was thinking this OP, especially when the man who was sent home was saying he’d really enjoyed the week with the other contestants and would really miss them. Me and DP were saying hang on haven’t you only been with them a day Hmm

Its filmed over two days but they wear the same stuff for continuity

@Winterfellismyhome is right - it is for continuity. Sometimes, on the second day they will need to reshoot bits where something went wrong with the shot first time around, so the contestants wear the same clothes in order to be able to pick up these bits and pieces that need redoing.

But they must stink! They must get sweaty from stress and food all over the clothes?! (This may just be me cooking Grin )

I've heard they launder the clothes overnight to avoid the whiffyness...

Orangedaisy · 28/08/2019 20:52

And what do they do with all the cake? Sure I could google but cba

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/08/2019 20:58

The production crew eat all the cakes I'd imagine

It's filmed over 2 days.

I only realised yesterday that When they say 'you have 10 minutes left, etc' the footage they show is not 'live' as they say it (does that make sense?) but the panicky stressy, running out of time bits are all filmed as they happen then cleverly edited. I did always wonder how they'd manage to ice 20 biscuits in 5 minutes

Haffdonga · 28/08/2019 21:00

The crew all dive on the cakes as soon as they finish filming. I knew one of them.

Paul seems particularly harsh this year!!! Very blunt! I know it’s a competition but still! Noel cracks me right up, I love his silly jokes.

There was an article about this I can remember reading it, but can't recall what it was in - sorry!!!

Anyway, as said it's filmed over two days, apparently all ovens have a Victoria sponge baked in them each morning of filming (to check they are functioning).

They wear the same clothes because some of the chat or reactions you see might be from the Sunday but is cut to look like Saturday.

All bakes, including the Victoria sponges get eaten as there's a lot of staff behind the scenes on top of who you see.

I now can't really recall of it was in the article about laundering the clothes at the hotel, or if that's something I read here!!

I read an interview with Rahul at the weekend and he said it's a shock when the series is aired and you realise millions are watching because "there are only about 50 people in the tent." Fifty! I guess I imagined the contestants, the presenters and a couple of cameramen, about 20!
