Am I pregnant?

mamamoaner · 28/08/2019 13:42

17DPO

Some bleeding and brown discharge over last five days

Three cheap pregnancy tests say positive

One digital showed a line but after an hour the line has gone?

I feel pregnant; same symptoms as my first but the bleeding and disappearing line are scaring me? Any advice? I have a gps appointment next tuesday

It's rare to get a false positive so I'd say it's likely you are. Many people have implantation bleeding. Wait a few days and do another test! Congrats

inwood · 28/08/2019 13:44

I have no idea.

The line will go after an hour. You've had 3 positives.

mamamoaner · 28/08/2019 13:51

I think the bleeding is worrying me as I miscarried a few months back so am terrified it will happen again

I didn't bleed at all with my daughter so I'm nervous! Plus why would a line disappear?

No idea why it would disappear, maybe because it was digital?
I didn't have bleeding either but I've heard so many people do. I think the only thinking you can do it test again later x

I don't know what type if digital test shows a line? I've only ever seen digital with words so maybe it's just the type of test?
I would get a clear blue weeks one (or pack of two) and do one this week then again next week
Good luck

NoSauce · 28/08/2019 14:21

Could be a chemical pregnancy. I’d leave it a week and see how things are and test again OP.

Sounds like you're pregnant now but you might miscarry if you're bleeding, or you might not. Don't think anyone can say more than that at the moment. It's too early for a scan. You'll have to wait it out. Good luck

mamamoaner · 28/08/2019 14:31

I think I said it wrong! It's three of those strip cheap ones from eBay and then one of the plastic ones in a box from Tesco - both types have the line result system but the cheap ones still show a second line whereas the plastic stick one line has vanished

I had both red and brown bleeding/discharge in early pregnancy with my DD, she's here, fine and well so it's not always a cause for concern.

Is say more than likely you are pregnant. If the bleeding is concerning go to A&E, they should refer you to a clinic at the hospital that can do a scan for you. That's what they did for me anyway.

Good luck

Rubicon80 · 28/08/2019 17:52

I wouldn't get bogged down in the line disappearing if I were you. I don't think people really get false positive results on pregnancy tests.

@heylyla I think OP is probably much too early for a scan at 17dpo. I know it's tough but you may just have to sit it out and see what happens.

As pp have said, lots of people have bleeding in pregnancy and it's fine. It's usually only a problem if it comes along with cramps or pain, or if it's bright red and lots of it.

mamamoaner · 30/08/2019 07:35

Took another test today and it's negative? I'm so confused and don't know what to do!

@mamamoaner
When's period due?

mamamoaner · 30/08/2019 11:40

My periods are quite irregular, last one was right at the end of July. I used ovulation sticks as my cycle is so unreliable

@mamamoaner that makes things difficult to predict then. I would suggest waiting a while before testing again. Don't get your hopes up. A false positive is rare but it may not be positive now due to a chemical pregnancy (miscarriage very very early on) or it might be that your hormone levels aren't high enough yet and the tests you've used are not totally reliable. I've heard the rapid response ones are mist sensitive, wait and try again later x
