I cooked a shepherds pie last night, to put in fridge and heat for tea today.

I have left it in the oven all night

Please say if I fridge it now, it will be fine to eat later on.

It was quite warm last night but as long as you make sure it's very hot it should be ok.
I have had to leave food to cool over night in the oven quite often and I am still alive .

ThePhoenixRises · 28/08/2019 08:23

I only finished cooking it at 9pm, turned the oven off, then totally forgot about it.
So annoyed at myself.

If the oven door has stayed closed, then it should be in a sterile environment, so overnight there shouldn't be any problem. Reheat thoroughly.

I think it'll be ok, I wouldn't do it with chicken but mince should be ok.

DerelictWreck · 28/08/2019 08:33

It will be fine. It's only been about 50 years since lots of people didn't have a fridge.

20viona · 28/08/2019 08:33

I would eat it no probs.

ThePhoenixRises · 28/08/2019 08:50

Someone had kindly taken it out of the oven but let it on the counter all night.

It will be fine, brown meat doesn’t go off as quick as poultry.
Eat and enjoy.

Thanks everyone, it's in the fridge now and will re heat throughly before serving.

I hope you enjoyed your tea @ThePhoneix

Thank you SamBecket, I reheated until it was bubbling hot and it was lovely.
