Samsung phone/ WhatsApp question

Can anyone tell me what happens on a Samsung phone if you get a new WhatsApp message but have notifications turned off - is there a way of telling on the closed screen that you have a new message?

A red bubble on the app icon gives the number of unread messages.

Badabingbadabum · 28/08/2019 08:19

I turned off the red bubble, just irritated me, especially on my emails! What do you mean by notifications? When my screen is off I get different coloured LED lights blink on the phone.

Nothing will show on the lock screen if you have turned off notifications. I turned mine off. I am in several groups and it does my head in.

Ok so a different coloured LED light will flash when the screen is off? What are the colours?

Mine doesn't. The led only flashes if I have notifications on.

So I've got another question... if you have a photo on your phone that you want to send via WhatsApp, you can select the option to send via WhatsApp and then some suggested recipients come up. Are these people that phone owner messages regularly? Or could there be a name on there that hasn't been contacted for a while?

if you have muted the conversation no icon will come up and there will be no change of LED colour. If I go to send a photo it offers the people I message most, my DH and one of my closest friends

squee123 · 29/08/2019 00:04

it would only list someone you hadn't messaged in ages if you hadn't been messaging other people more regularly and recently

Pinkflipflop85 · 29/08/2019 00:04

The suggested recipients are the ones you contact regularly/ most recently.
