Back at work: tired, headache, sore throat

I’m just back at work after 2 weeks leave and it took me until lunchtime today to acquire a busting headache, sore throat and be dead tired.

I was like this before I went on leave and thought I just needed a break.

It’s office based so not manual. Local government type job. I don’t hate it. Definitely had worse jobs!!

What’s wrong with me?! I didn’t used to be like this 😫 I’m only 35, work out loads and I’m healthy but I’m wrecked

Is it humidity? Change in routine?

Someone help. Happy to answer more questions if it helps

Air con? 🤔

GymKitJen · 28/08/2019 08:00

We don’t have air con perfectionist - maybe it’s the lack of air circulating? We can’t even open the windows...

There def ' a bug going round near me I had a hacking cough for two weeks , very sore dry throat . The coughing gave me a head ache and back ache and I was very tired due to lack of sleep.
I got through lots of cough medicine and a numbing spray .
Sipping ice cold water helped me a bit.

I genuinely couldn’t work somewhere where you can’t open the windows - all day breathing in stuffy, germ filled, other people’s breath, air. Grim. No wonder you don’t feel well.

I’ve had a dry hacking cough and sore throat for weeks, too wasn’t sure if it was a bug or something else. Maybe there is something going round?

Google sick building syndrome and it will answer your question. Could you look for a role that has a mix of office time and getting out and about as I found that really helped my health.
