Any snake owners out there?

Sooo i'm going to be buying a pet snake as my kids love them (and i definitely have always had a soft spot for them too!) There isn't any snakes available in my area from breeders which i would have probably preferred. I was just wondering if anybody has a snake which they purchased from a store? Such as pets at home etc. I wanted to buy one that was a few years old so i didnt have to raise it but looks like from a store you can only buy them as babies. Which means i'll need to do some more research now! Does anybody own a snake from a pet store since it was a baby and had a good experience? Just looking for some advice really. Thanks.

Also FYI it's a corn snake i am after getting.

We bought one from a pet shop as a baby and it was a nightmare went through phases of not eating and had to be force fed, got weird lumps up its back and eventually died after about a year.

I have two other snakes that I got as adults and they are fine.

A rescue would certainly be your best bet for a corn snake that's a couple of years old. They are inundated. You'd get a good report on feeding habits and temperament too.

Oh boy, thats why i would prefer an adult one so i dont have the responsibility of raising it Did you get the adult ones from a previous owner or through a shop?

I would go to a specialist reptile pet store rather than pets at home for example.

Its definitely easier to get an older, handled one, have you looked at online rehoming sites?

RSPCA often has corn snakes for rehoming
