Why am I bothered?

On my way into a newish job, it's in an office so was deliberating on what to wear due to hot weather and them not having the best air con but so far so happy with my choice when some teenager (I think) interrupting what looked like some sort of dodgy deal as I walked past say to his mate "don't worry it's just some slag" and it's totally brought me down.

I'm embarrassed to even feel bothered about it but even more annoyed that I let it get to me.

For reference I'm wearing a midi skirt and vest top not that it should matter.

Its sounds like they were just using 'slag' to mean 'woman' not referencing your clothing. I doubt they even noticed what you were wearing.

A midi skirt sounds perfect for an office job in this weather very on trend.

Don't give them anymore of your time Flowers

I agree, they use the term to mean ‘woman’. Nice.

I doubt it was anything to do with your outfit or you personally. That's just how some rank boys and men refer to women. Little weasels.

Thanks all, I've been so busy at work since that I haven't given it a thought.

I just surprised myself by letting it affect my mood.

Slag probably means they consider you to be attractive. If you're ugly you are called a dog 😖

Dont let it bother you, easier said than done I know.

But as PP said these arseholes use slag to mean woman, Very charming. I got called a slag for not wanting to give my number to someone in a coffee shop I was quite Confused
