I fucked up my spacing and don't know if I can fix it (pic)

The gap on either side of the L is too big, I can see that now 🤦
I don't know if I should try to fix it by sort of enlarging the other letters, or will it make it worse, and draw attention to it?
Would you try and fix it, or leave it as is?

I think it looks absolutely lovely!

WeeDangerousSpike · 26/08/2019 17:31

I think I'd leave it as it is, too easy to make it worse.

It's very pretty and i don't think anyone but you will notice!

Suebnm · 26/08/2019 17:32

Leave as is. It's great.

Knitwit99 · 26/08/2019 17:32

No-one apart from you will ever notice. But I know how you feel, I knit things and I see and am bugged by all my mistakes, even though no-one else notices. Don't try and fix it, you'll make it worse.

Fraggling · 26/08/2019 17:32

What is it?

It's lovely and looks home made rather than shop bought which is good!

My mum says they used to put differences or deliberate mistakes in rugs to show they were hand made, not sure if that's true.

Leave it alone it is fab 😊

ScreamingValenta · 26/08/2019 17:34

It looks great!

Wearenotyourkind · 26/08/2019 17:35

Nope, wouldn't have noticed! It's fab

ReTooth · 26/08/2019 17:35

It depends what it is for? It would irritate me if I had made it and I’d redo the lettering. Other people wouldn’t mind at all. Only you know which category you fall in. 😊

Ilovemyshoppingtrolley · 26/08/2019 17:38

Its fine, love seeing homemade stuff.

On a finer point at least it has the correct spelling!! Wink Now that would bug me!

NorthEndGal · 26/08/2019 17:42

Lol I was at a show where a lady was selling a "catus planter"

I will leave it, and pray no one picks it apart
Grin
I find driftwood, and paint it, and sell it, as a side hustle. I have a craft fair coming up, and I don't know if I should be leaving this one at home, as there is only so much table space.
Thank you all for the lovely feed back

If it’s really bothering you surely it would be pretty easy to rectify by painting over the lettering with white?

NorthEndGal · 26/08/2019 17:45

Painting white over black is way harder than you'd think, it turns everything smudgey grey .

I think I will just offer it on discount!

PullingMySocksUp · 26/08/2019 17:48

I think a flower after the L might sort it out.

Painting it white won’t help as the gap is too big on both sides, so there’s nowhere to reposition it to that would be better.

NorthEndGal · 26/08/2019 18:43

So I took the advice of @PullingMySocksUp and added a flower (or twenty).....
Better?

NoBaggyPants · 26/08/2019 18:46

Can you reduce that middle flower or is it painted?

Is this to sell or just as something for yourself?

Apileofballyhoo · 26/08/2019 18:49

It looks better with the new flower.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 26/08/2019 18:58

That looks much better. You are both very clever OP and Pulling.

NorthEndGal · 26/08/2019 19:34

Thank you!
Credit totally to @PullingMySocksUp

Oh! That does work! Excellent. It looks lovely. Smile

DramaAlpaca · 26/08/2019 20:29

That's lovely. The flower in between did the job perfectly.

Meckity1 · 26/08/2019 20:39

I was told that you can tell whether those amazing, handknotted, antique fantastic rugs from Afghanistan and Turkey etc are genuine because the genuine ones have a deliberate mistake, like a reversal of a pattern repeat. That's because the old weavers said that the only thing perfect is God.

It looks awesome and you are amazingly creative.

NorthEndGal · 26/08/2019 22:30

I'm loving the idea that it makes it authentic!
Thank you for the kindness and help
