Security deposits and guests

I fell like i just need to get this off my chest!

So i work in a tourist destination as a reservations manager, company i work for has over 100 apartments/villa's all privately rented through us.

This has year has to be worst i think it's ever been by far!

We've had guests 'break into' cupboards that have locks on (this is where spare linen is stored), no exaggeration at least 15 properties this has happened in and they've used linen ready washed ironed ect for the next 2 planned stays. A stolen microwave , shutters ripped off the runners. Properties that required a few extra hours of cleaning because guests left them very grubby, and when i say grubby i mean because they've smeared suncream all over the windows like they were cleaning them with it! leaving 10 massive black bags full of rubbish fermenting in the sun all week etc.. Guests that have broken keys in the lock because they've put them in back to front, towels and duvets used to mop up spills of red wine etc.... We've also had one set of guests he threw a massive party and left rubbish strewn all over the property the day before check-out. Guests that are supposed to check-out at 10:00 stay until we come and kick them out, sometimes refusing to let the cleaner in to start because they want to stay longer as their flights aren't until the evening (no concern for guests arriving that day!)

I have time off booked at the end of September and it can't come soon enough lol

On a much smaller scale, this reminds me of the horror stories my friend has about the holiday cottage she rents out in Snowdonia. How do these people live at home?

Aghhh I could not do your job

What are people thinking?

I feel your pain, i do your job at a campsite, i swear people get worse over the years.

The last few years we have seen:
People complain about someones noisy tent zip!
Poo smeared over the shower walls and toilets.
Someone wee'd over the toilet tissue holder and tissue.
A guy throw up in the ladies toilets then go round to the gents and do the same, then puke all over their tent pitch and we had people coming in on that pitch.
People want refunds because it rained and they decided not to stay.
Speed limits that people clearly think are just there for the fun of it.

I often wonder would you do this at home ?

we had someone 2 years ago take a steaming poo on a bed and then smeared it all over the covers and mattress! Urgh! I honestly don’t what goes through people’s heads.
We’ve had guests complaining about seagulls making noise before and wanting money back for it.

Someone also asked me how cold the sea was hahaha.
