TMI but does everyone often/always get skid marks in the toilet bowl that require 3+ flushes/toilet brush to get rid of? Or is it just people with IBS, etc? Do healthy people get it once in a while, often or never?

Laying down toilet paper doesn't seem to help either :/

I can't say it's a problem here.

(Are you the poo troll??)

Kinsters · 26/08/2019 10:08

Nope, not something I've ever noticed.

Frith2013 · 26/08/2019 10:35

Only if I’ve eaten a lot of chocolate the day before. I must find it hard to digest.

WarmSausageTea · 26/08/2019 10:38

Don’t put paper down first, you’re risking badly blocked pipes.

Pinkpercy · 26/08/2019 10:41

I don’t have this in my new home but had it in my last house so I think it’s more to do with the shape of the loo Grin

Knittingnanny · 26/08/2019 10:44

Must be a personal thing as one of my 3 children always did despite them all being fed the same food!
I hope as a married adult husband and father he cleans it up himself!

TerribleCustomerCervix · 26/08/2019 10:47

Nope. Sometimes DH does, but his has the worst diet known to man so I’m not surprised it sets like concrete.

I just get him to flush it until it washes away. He is banned from using the loo brush.

Cornettoninja · 26/08/2019 11:21

Are you in a hard water area? Limescale makes it much more likely for dirt to get trapped.

HotChocolateLover · 26/08/2019 11:24

If you’re in a hard water area then denture tablets work miracles. Ours was minging but now is shiny white.

RocketRacoonsFurryBalls · 26/08/2019 11:36

Yes. It’s an illustration of my life in general.

cacklingmags · 26/08/2019 11:46

Yup, IBS here - always cleaning the loo.

floppybit · 26/08/2019 11:52

Yes. Particularly bad since new loo installed so that definitely plays a part. We all have a good diet btw

chickenyhead · 26/08/2019 11:54

DS always does it. Eldest DD just blocks it with loo roll. It is a warning I have to give to visitors.. If I dont know which minion used it last...

CookPassBabtridge · 26/08/2019 11:57

Only after I've had a binge of lots of fat and carbs. If my diet is healthy then never.

FrogFairy · 26/08/2019 11:59

Modern toilets might save water but IMO don’t do a very good job of actually flushing stuff away.

I have never had a problem until I had a new toilet fitted a few years ago. I also think that alongside using less water I am unlucky with the shape of the actual toilet pan in the way poo falls into it it.

dudsville · 26/08/2019 12:05

Ah, the comment about modern toilets reminded me of my mothers's. Her toilet is a low level thing from the 40's pr 50's. It's a good height for bowel movements. It's also a shallow bowl that is full of water so that nothing hits dry porcelain. My lovely sleek modern toilet is too high and is a deep dry bowl (with water only at the bottom).

SudowoodoVoodoo · 26/08/2019 12:31

Our toilets are rubbish, you have to press and hold for ages just to get rid of a wee and a few sheets of paper properly. They stand no chance against mine and the DC's claggy digestive systems. At least I bleach and scrub the toilet after use, but the DCs walk off and leave it to set undiscovered for a few hours.

Given how lousy they are at aiming their own anatomy for the toilet bowl, I'm reluctant to let them loose with the toilet brush...

I'm sure wimpy modern "efficient" flushes are a false economy in environmentalism given how many extra flushes and bleach I have to use to deal with the aftermath of their ineptitude.

Fraggling · 26/08/2019 12:36

Yes we do

Kids are worse for it I realised its because they are smaller and so sit forward more so more misses the water

Point about new bogs shape and feeble flush not being great ftom this pov

Do toilet manufactures realise how shitty (ha!) toilets are now? Seems silly to have things that don't work as well as they use to / are less fit for purpose but that seems to be the way some things go.

Interesting re hard water areas

FredaFox · 26/08/2019 14:11

As an ibs sufferer yes, agree 're toikets, my mum's im generally ok with but mine I have to really clean it, it's definitely connected to the shape of the bowl
