What would you spend £200 on?

My lovely parents have (most unusually!) given me 200 smackers for my birthday, with strict instructions to spend it on myself and not on the household. I have no idea what to spend it on. What would you buy?

Georg Jensen Offspring hoop earrings. I absolutely love them but absolutely can not justify the cost!

Or a pair of Ugg slippers. My favourite slippers in the world! Absolutely worth the money! Mine met a demise last night (glares at dog)

Lillygreen · 25/08/2019 20:46

Botox!!!

Teensruletheroost · 25/08/2019 20:47

Handbag?
Spa treatments?
Clothing?
Posh candle?

BikeRunSki · 25/08/2019 20:48

Weekend away, or jewellery if that is impractical. Maybe a nice watch.

bookmum08 · 25/08/2019 20:49

Sensible = new glasses or new clothes
Total treat = long weekend to Brighton by myself to include trip to Lego Shop

Tish008 · 25/08/2019 20:50

Bottle of niche perfume or a barbour jacket for autumn. Lucky you!

treeplop · 25/08/2019 20:51

A Roberts Radio

allabouteve1 · 25/08/2019 20:51

A night or two in a secluded air B and B by the sea with a beautiful book lovely food and a log fire. If he's good I might take DH. ( but probably wouldn't)

AuntieMarys · 25/08/2019 20:52

A pair of boots

QuaterMiss · 25/08/2019 20:52

Perfume.

Or a new wallet.

Or possibly some wellingtons I’ve seen that are to die for ...

QueenImprov · 25/08/2019 20:52

Some new jewellery (I like the Carrie Elizabeth brand which is around that price point)

An expensive item of clothing which I wouldn't normally buy myself, like a new coat or boots

A fancy night away

SweetieDarlings · 25/08/2019 20:54

A pair of good long leather boots for the winter!

Jsmith99 · 25/08/2019 20:54

A weekend in a Premier Inn somewhere nice.

nespressowoo · 25/08/2019 20:57

A good hair cut. Or a night in a hotel and a massage. Enjoy - I am jealous!

Runningsmooth · 25/08/2019 21:00

Pair of jeans - £60 / £70
Go for afternoon tea with my DD - £30
Couple of nights out with friends - £100

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 25/08/2019 21:00

A good quality coat.

Some gorgeous perfume.

New bras!

Number3or4 · 25/08/2019 21:02

I would either get my hair done or buy a nice coat.

Ninkaninus · 25/08/2019 21:04

Right this very second? - I’d save it and put it towards a classic Burberry cashmere scarf, which is one item I definitely want for the winter.

Or, save it towards Daisy earrings by Georg Jensen.

Or save it towards a Mulberry bag I’ve got my eye on.

Or, if I was wanting to buy something straight out without having to save I would buy either a wool cape or a pair of good leather Chelsea boots, from somewhere like Barbour/Dubarry/Fairfax and Favor.

Ninkaninus · 25/08/2019 21:07

I just bought this coat which is beautiful:

There’s enough left in the budget for a good pair of shoes or a nice bag, too! But it really depends what you like, what you’ve already got, and if there’s something you’ve been hankering for at the back of your mind...

BarbaraofSeville · 25/08/2019 21:10

New biker boots for winter
Spa day or evening spa at Center Parcs
Some books that I want but can't justify buying because I have hundreds of unread books so only allow myself to buy them when 99p on kindle.

I don't have treatments at the spa, so the £200 should cover all that.

Lucafritz · 25/08/2019 21:12

New winter boots
Books
Art supplies
Clothes

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 25/08/2019 21:13

Clothes and a nice dinner out

Holmes19 · 25/08/2019 21:13

Definitely a weekend away making memories 🥰

AmeliaranneStiggins · 25/08/2019 21:28

Some great ideas here! I do need a new coat and boots. But jewellery would be lovely, too...
