Anyone got a swing like this? Help!

Bought a double swing for our twins plus these bucket seats. Ropes are secured under the seat with these clamps. Seems like they’re in two halves but can’t seem to open them. Really need to shorten the ropes as they’re too long. Any tips? Don’t want to force them open and break them.

Alternatively, anyone know of something I could buy to secure the ropes underneath the seats if I cut the rope above these clamps? The rope is very stiff so would struggle to tie a knot.

The boys are desperate to play on the swings and I’m feeling useless!

Forgot to add you can’t push the rope through, it’s clamped very tight

They’re from amazon but no instructions on shortening the ropes

It does look like they’re tabs you can open but no matter what I try, I can’t get them open!

I saw those metal things when I was looking online but wasn’t sure how you’d use them? I’m undoubtedly being dense!

Can you not shorten the rope at the top rather than under the seats?

Thanks all - this is the whole seat, the rope is very thick and stiff, seems like it would be really tricky to tie knots anywhere and make them even.

This might be a very stupid suggestion as I have a history of them, but can you wrap them round the top bar, like a naughty park thug? Then you’ll be able to lengthen them again if you need it?
