God I feel sooo old today.

I had a stiff neck yesterday, not so bad that I couldn’t do stuff. Had an uncomfortable night of it spasming every time I rolled over and got up this morning and now I can barely move my head. It’s not like anything I’ve ever experienced before.

I’ve taken ibuprofen and I’ve got a hot water bottle (although it’s too bloody hot to contemplate). Anyone got any other suggestions? And what the hell has caused this?! I haven’t pulled it or anything!

Could you call 111? I remember DM having this and she needed a valium as she literally couldn't rotate her head at all.

Look up Yoga with Adriene and look at her neck videos. Brilliant!

It sounds like what iv just had for the past 2 weeks! It was awful..It went up into my head and behind my eye. I looked on nhs website and I think it was a tension headache. Ibuprofen helped.

You could try a run on gel, Ibuleve or Voltarol or similar.

PoptartPoptart · 25/08/2019 11:18

Rub on, not run on Smile

Thanks everyone. The rub on stuff is a great suggestion, I hadn’t thought of that, thanks @Poptartpoptart. I’ll try that as my first port of call. If it’s no better tomorrow I might call 111.

I love Adriene @NoBaggyPants. Maybe when I can move it a bit I’ll give that a go. Can’t bend at all at the moment!

Are you all better @moonpiggle?

I wouldn't do yoga or anything like until you've been checked over by a doctor. I'd probably ring 111 just to be on the safe side.

Any headache, fever or rash head straight to A&E.

Wearenotyourkind · 25/08/2019 11:31

Have you tried deep heat?

bobstersmum · 25/08/2019 11:37

I have had this recently, for me its usually triggered by too many pillows or too hard a pillow. It ends with a horrible migraine. Last time it went on for about 4 to 5 days it was horrible so you have my sympathy op. It's a bit too hot for a hot water bottle but that would be my suggestion, plus ibuprofen AND cocodamol.

bobstersmum · 25/08/2019 11:39

Also op only you know if it's something out of the ordinary, I have experienced this a few times but if it's really strange for you I would call 111.

moonpiggle · 25/08/2019 11:51

@TweezerMay Yes much better thanks. Hope your feeling better soon.
