Period vs blood clot?

I had surgery a couple of weeks ago and have to take meds to reduce the risk of thrombosis. I now have my period and am getting rather fed up of dripping through super plus tampons every 3-4 hours. I'm used to heavy periods, but usually the heavy bit lasts 1 day, max 2 days and it's been 4 days now with o sign of stopping. I'm pretty sure it's a side effect of the medication. I've 7 tablets left. I was warned that all the meds might mess up the effect of the pill and I guess this is what has happened as it's my first real period in about 4 years.

How risky would it be to stop the meds for two days in the hope that my period will stop? I'm not ultra mobile (crutches, non weight bearing for two more weeks) but can move around inside and manage a 5 minute "walk".

I wouldn't risk it for such a little amount of tablets you have left. I'd rather have a heavy period for a few days than the long lasting effects of a blood clot. Hope you feel better sion

I suppose (well, I know) you're right Angry They could have warned me. I've practically no supplied left and no way of getting to the shops [sigh]
