Security for keyless start cars

If a car is keyless start but not keyless entry, is it still more vulnerable to theft than any other locked car? DH looking at faraday bags / cages to prevent the signal being boosted to steal the car, but I'm unsure if its only useful if the car is keyless entry (which his isn't, it's just normal remote central locking). Thanks!

The police suggested I use an old fashioned steering lock as a deterrent after my car was stolen.
There’s a high car crime rate in my area and you’ll see lots of cars with steering locks.

I expect they can break in via the door and then start the car via a relay. An extra step though.

We keep our keys further away from the outside but the advice is to use a steering lock as a deferent. I'm about to buy a metal tin to pop our keys in.

You can buy cheap pouches on amazon to keep keys in to do the job.

I always thought the risk was greater for cars with keyless entry...

I have a faraday pouch for my keys, but ive read that just leaving your keys in the microwave will do the job (don't actually microwave them though!!)

We have the pouches for ours (remember to do your spare key!)

I keep mine in a tin with a tight lid (old loose tea tin)

Microwaves are meant to be the best place to chuck your keys to prevent keyless theft. I never remember, though, so have to hope for the best (and also rely on the fact my car is such a shitheap that any potential thieves would look through the windows, see the licky-fingermarks all over the windows and the ridiculous amount of shite the DC secrete all over the back seat and feel sorry for me and leave it there). It was a lovely car, once upon a time.

Ours are in a Faraday box, in a cupboard, as far away from the car as it’s possible to be.
