Minor disappointment

I've spent ages lovingly tendering lemon cucumbers in my green house for most of the summer.

Been looking forward to them looking fancy as fuck in a G&T. Decided today was the day to harvest one (not pick harvest. As I grew it)

Slimy insipid the skin is prickly and tough 😟

I do realise this is a first world problem, but I'm disappointed.

Anyone care to share?

Never heard of lemon cucumbers but my heart bleeds for you :-).

@MoaningMinnie1

I saw the in farmers market but thought they were a bit dear! And would have a go myself! Wish I'd not bothered

So disappointing after all your tending :/ Are they all the same?

Hopefully the rest won't be as tough this one was the largest

Mr Google says “Lemon cucumbers are not generally fit for consumption.”
Sorry.☹️

I’ve eaten them before!
The skins are tough and thick, but that can’t be too much of an issue in a g&t surely as you don’t eat them (aren’t they just a garnish?).

I was growing cucamelons, also for G&T. Went away for a weekend, the weather was unexpected hot, scorched and killed the lot of them. Do you think we're both being punished for growing ridiculous poncy plants?
