Plan was steak and homemade chips but steak was subbed for thin steak which doesn’t leave enough juice on the plate isn’t what I like for steak and chips.

Potatoes
Thin steak
Variety of veg (pepper, onion, mushroom, spinach)

Also have Usual store cupboard stuff, eggs, cream and chorizo but not much other then that!

Oven bake the potatoes and veg with garlic and herbs (not the spinach). Griddle the steak briefly on each side and serve with the veg. You could wilt the spinach in some butter and add some seasoning and nutmeg.

Stir fry?

CaptainMyCaptain · 24/08/2019 17:29

I'd slice the steak thinly and stir fry with the vegetables. I'd eat it with rice or noodles, though, not potatoes.

Do you have rice? I would just make a stir fry with the steak, veg and some rice.

Or with the cream and potatoes, if you have milk and garlic, i'd make potato dauphinoise coz it's my favourite! Maybe fry off the chorizo with the steak and some spices and plonk it on top!

Stir fry would be a winner for us.

Bourbonbiccy · 24/08/2019 17:33

Or use the egg as an omelette base and add on to toppings covered with cheese. Like an Omelette pizza type thing.

Bourbonbiccy · 24/08/2019 17:34

Or stir fry and throw in egg to wok it, like a foo yung

Ooh thank you!

Beef strogonoff with mashed potatoes?

Lucked · 24/08/2019 17:57

I make steak sandwiches or fajitas with thin steaks but would need baguettes or wraps.

Veg filled beef olives could work but they need hours to cook so not if you are making something tonight.

RezCowgirl · 24/08/2019 19:10

Stir fry the beef with the veg and make a potato salad.

AdaColeman · 24/08/2019 19:14

Beef stroganoff (cut the steak into strips) with cream (garlic & mushrooms if you have any) serve with mashed potatoes with a splash of truffle oil, or rice or noodles.

PegasusReturns · 24/08/2019 19:15

I'd make a sort of stroganoff - beef, mushrooms and peppers stir fried in a creamy mustard sauce and served with mash or home made fries.

I find the thin steaks really need a creamy sauce to lift it as they tend to be quite dry.

Heat onions plus and other veg and chorizo gently in pan once those ingredients are gently cooked add egg mixture to Make an omelette (especially tasty folded over with cheese grated in the middle and some herbs added for seasoning ) Make Some Sautéd potatoes Or chips.
