I think I have hoovered up an ear ring that I love and can’t replace. Do I......

2. Go through the full Henry bag.

If 2, is there a not too awful way to do it?

Depends how much you love the earring.

Get a bin bag and cut it so that it’s a big flat mat.

Lay on ground outside.

Empty contents of vacuum cleaner in the middle and don rubber gloves to poke around.

When finished, gather up corners of bag and tie and place in general waste.

Hopefully you will have found the earring.

Don’t do it outside- you can bet a gust of wind will come along

As per @Belgravian but get a student to go through it for £5.
