How many weeks would you think that was?

OP posts:
Needtobuildabridge · 24/08/2019 08:38

3 or 4

whereisthebloodylunchbox · 24/08/2019 08:41

2-3

ems137 · 24/08/2019 08:41

3-5 at the most

30not13 · 24/08/2019 08:42

Anyinthing upto about 6

SamStephens · 24/08/2019 08:43

Three.

To me a couple = two. A few = three. Anything else is longer.

31RueCambon · 24/08/2019 08:45

Between 2 and 4
But a few weeks ago could be 20 weeks ago because time flies!

Teachermaths · 24/08/2019 08:45

Up to 5.

Herat1986 · 24/08/2019 08:46

6-7
Then it goes into months

CakeNinja · 24/08/2019 08:46

3-4.

4 weeks and you'd say about a month ago, 2 weeks is a couple.
RezCowgirl · 24/08/2019 08:54

3

sackrifice · 24/08/2019 08:55

2-3. Then it goes to 'a month ago'.

Justkeeprollingalong · 24/08/2019 08:56

Why? Curious now!

MrsDimmond · 24/08/2019 08:56

Depends on the context of the conversation to some extent but 3-6

turquoisewhale · 24/08/2019 08:58

I thought over 2 but less than 4 (so 3?? Grin)

Boring story alert:

I ordered glasses for both my sons at an opticians recently and we went back to collect them as arranged over a week later.

They didn't tick a box on the form to say we needed new frames for 1 of them as they thought we were handing the frames in. Even though we were there for that particular pair because they were lost. But okay, mistakes happen.

They said they'd call us when they were ready. No call so I phoned them and said we were in a few weeks ago and we still hadn't heard anything, any idea when they'd be ready.

Person who answered the phone was rather rude and abrupt and said you were in TWO weeks ago actually.

I checked my diary and it was 3 weeks ago minus 1 day so I feel that few was still the correct terminology

I thought I'd ask the MN collective for their opinions of how many few covered. I may have also googled the definition of few. I may also have too much time on my hands.

Still don't know when we'll be getting the glasses...

Thank you 😊
They were rude. The customer is always right.

baubled · 24/08/2019 21:48

5-6 for me but I wouldn't think anything of 3 weeks being referred to as a few, she was rude regardless!

dudsville · 24/08/2019 21:48

Literally it's 3, but people don't often speak literally.
