Sorting the garden so the kids can play whilst we drink and have a BBQ!
Also taking a dip in the outside pool this morning.

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/08/2019 07:56

Staying inside till the evenings if possible, I hate heatwaves.

Frownette · 24/08/2019 07:59

Where is this heatwave?? It's still fairly overcast here

Frownette · 24/08/2019 08:00

I might eat my words later

FlorencesHunger · 24/08/2019 08:38

Made arrangements to go to the meadows in Edinburgh(city park) and meet some friends. I should probably cut my grass first.

Otherwise general idea is to be outside.

lucysmam · 24/08/2019 08:39

Uniform shopping for dd2, then off to a Safari Nights concert at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park tonight. The girls don't know about that yet; I'm just going to come home, make a pack up and head out with them Grin

AvengerDanvers95 · 24/08/2019 08:43

If I didn't have the children I would go to the supermarket, stock up on tapas style snacks and drinks then hole up for the whole weekend with box sets and books. Normally I would say cinema but there's nothing on I want to see. A swim early in the morning before settling down maybe. Lovely.

NoSquirrels · 24/08/2019 08:44

Heatwave?

Herat1986 · 24/08/2019 08:49

If I didn't have kids I'd probably be in the garden trying to catch a tan. I'd finally start the book that's been on my nightstand for several weeks.

Kim82 · 24/08/2019 08:50

Today I’ll be cleaning the house top to bottom and doing all the washing whilst dh amuses the kids - no idea what his plans are with them, probably a bike ride or swimming or something.

Tomorrow we’re going to the cinema in the morning then the younger dc are at dh’s parents overnight whilst dh and I go out with friends for a few drinks (elder ones can stay home by themselves).

Monday will be spent probably slightly hungover on the sofa watching films and the dc will be home around 3pm.

golddustwomen · 24/08/2019 08:52

Child free??
Pub crawl

golddustwomen · 24/08/2019 08:54

As it stands I'm not child free, so will be paddling pool and trying to keep my kids cool. Neither of them like the hot weather at all!

crisscrosscranky · 24/08/2019 09:01

Today I will be sitting in the garden looking at all the weeding I should be doing while the kids play in the paddling pool. I would quite like some colour that isn't white or pink on my legs!

Tomorrow some mums from my DD's new secondary school have arranged a picnic in a local park and I have a whole load of housework to do.

Monday we are going to a friends for a BBQ

Camomila · 24/08/2019 09:41

DH and DS have gone off to the Lido this morning.
I'm inside studying. Ugh.

Frownette · 24/08/2019 09:49

@Camomila it's a worthy cause

yulet · 24/08/2019 09:55

That's literally been my day so far Avengers. Had a leisurely swim and hot tub this morning, then stocked up on drinks, fruits and cold food for the weekend. Now we're holed out indoors, until more swimming this evening.

(We tried to have children and spent years miserable because we couldn't- and now I'm trying to enjoy the plus sides of it all - at least we just get to hide inside in hot weather!) Smile

0hT00dles · 24/08/2019 10:09

Child free- I'd be going for a nice lunch and some drinks somewhere with a nice outside space.

Unfortunately we are off to a kids birthday party. And it's not a drop and run one. The toddler has been invited. Already fully booked for September for birthday parties too😭

CakeNinja · 24/08/2019 10:36

Child free i’d be rounding up a couple of mates to go and sit with me in a pub garden by the river.
With children, I’m dropping one to a birthday party and sleepover, taking one to buy water pistols (why do they always break?!) and taking the other one to an art shop to stock up on supplies for school.
Then home for a bbq when dp has finished work. Our neighbours may come round too.
Won’t be too many years before I can live out my sunny pub garden dreams Grin
My mum used to do it and take me and my brother with her - it was the most boring time ever for us!! Confused

Dowser · 24/08/2019 10:37

On holiday in Barry..having a blast

augustagain · 24/08/2019 10:38

Heatwave?! Fog and rain here pretty much since May. If I sound bitter, it's because I am Grin

Lardlizard · 24/08/2019 11:07
