How flat are you're toddlers molars

This is an odd question but DS is 2 and his molars are really pointy in the 4 corners which makes it look like a dip in the middle.

Just wondering if this is normal or if the tooth is wearing away in the middle incorrectly

I'm really paranoid about him getting cavities so not sure if I'm imagining things

Hopeful bump

I honestly couldn't tell you the shape of DSs molars, but based on a quick survey of my own mouth, I think they're supposed to be like that

Camomila · 23/08/2019 21:23

Mine are like that, as are DSs. I think that's the usual shape?

Thank you, had a look at mine and they are sameish just not as defined but maybe that's because he's not worn them down yet.

It's so hard to clean his teeth thoroughly I just panic about them

Ours are like that, did you know the dentist will seal toddlers teeth to prevent cavities?

meepmoop · 23/08/2019 22:03

I did not, I'm tempted to take him just so they're checked. I'm not quite sure how they'll look in his mouth though.

We've been previously but they didn't look just made a note of which ones he had

Take him to the dentist! All children need to be checked as soon as their teeth come through (ideally before they're 1!). Then the dentist can give you advice on looking after his teeth too.
There's a big campaign at the moment (dental check by 1) so your local dentist should have spaces.
