I've just put the cooker on for tea (kfc zinger type chicken burgers with chips and salad), and the kettle on to make a cup of coffee.

I think I might actually have a Wine though. I've just spent an hour trying to regain control of the brambles in my front garden.

The girls are upstairs listening to Taylor Swift's new album today. Dd1 popped down a couple of minutes ago to tell me she loves it :)

What are you all up to?

On the train on my way home from work, will collect DS from nursery on the way home and just give him beans on toast for dinner as I'm later than usual and he'll be hangry!
We'll go for a bath together and I'll put him to bed then binge Netflix. DH is away atm.

I’m sat watching the cricket and thinking I really should be cooking dinner but I’m knackered and just can’t be bothered!

Today has been the first day of the holidays when I feel like I’ve had enough and need a break for an hour or two

Socksontheradiator · 23/08/2019 16:37

I'm just off to work. Split shifts today. I had a nap this afternoon, which felt quite decadent!

BrunettesDoItBetter · 23/08/2019 16:37

Sat with an ice lolly scrolling mumsnet after a play date and ds friends house.Having Chinese takeaway later

Newearringsplease · 23/08/2019 16:38

Ooogetyooo · 23/08/2019 16:39

Just waiting for a telephone interview to start for a job applied for.

dementedma · 23/08/2019 16:40

Back from a business meeting in Aberdeen. 4 hour drive round trip. Stretched out on bed wondering if its too early for a G n T?

lucysmam · 23/08/2019 16:41

Good luck @Ooogetyooo! Hope it goes well.

Newearringsplease I think I should have made a cake; I really fancy something sweet but really cba to go to the shops.

Currently watching Catfish waiting for DH to get home so we can shove the pizzas on.

DD5 is still in her school clothes playing a lullaby teddy to the cat trying to get her to sleep while also telling the cat how much she loves P2 and her new teacher HmmGrin

I've had the experience of Skegness today for the first time ever, it's roasting up in lincs today and we hit the beach. It's been wonderful.

@lucysmam I love the new Taylor album!

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/08/2019 16:42

Mooching around, half watching Home and Away, (don't judge meGrin), and wondering what to have for dinner.

ssd · 23/08/2019 16:45

I love your threads lucysmam
I'm just in from work, knackered, showered and sat drinking tea. Will hang a washing out soon.

FlamingoFlamenco · 23/08/2019 16:49

Have just made a mushroom, onion and tomato sauce for the pasta we're going to have whilst watching Downton. DP made the mistake of standing around with nothing to do - he's been messing around in the garage all day, so I've given him the toaster to clean of all his crumbs (I don't eat toast).
Blow me down if he didn't take that into the garage too and cleaned it with the compressor. It's done a really good job too.

Job for life now DP !

Wink

I’m at my mom and dads with my two dd’s and my mom is making me tea! Hot tub and gin later with oh when kids are in bed! (I no 90% of you are shuddering about the hot tub but I absolutely love mine!)

ginandwine · 23/08/2019 16:52

Sat outside with my 13 month old dd enjoying the weather on the grass with a umbrella for shade, just made a tea, have no ideas of what to cook so any recommendations would be helpful!

lucysmam · 23/08/2019 16:52

@IHaveBrilloHair I read that as "Half watching Home Alone..." and had a bit of a Hmm moment Grin

@StormcloakNord your dd sounds very sweet!

It’s 28 degrees and I’m under the covers with a hot water bottle and a cup of tea nursing a sinus infection and ovarian cyst pain Angry

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/08/2019 16:55

Home Alone is probably less naff than Home and Away, but I love my Aussie soaps Grin

FlamingoFlamenco · 23/08/2019 17:00

Oh wow! he's polished it as well - it looks brand new.

I've told him that he's got the job as I couldn't possibly ever match up to those dizzy heights of polishyness!

TreacherousPissFlap · 23/08/2019 17:16

My mother has just arrived for the obligatory weekend visit. The pub opens in an hour and I'm considering suggesting we visit, simply for a change of scene

lucysmam · 23/08/2019 21:44

@Ooogetyooo how did you get on? :)

Watching "Lore" on Amazon with the grumpy teething baby on my knee and the snoring Jack Russell beside me.
