Threadworms

We’ve just had our first encounter 🤢 It’s got me thinking that perhaps I should check once a week / fortnight? Do you regularly check for worms? —in no way completely grossed out that we’ve all been infested—

You should check poops often. Just a quick look in the pan before flushing. However the best way to check is also just as unpleasant. Once a month or so I do a bum check. The worms crawl out at night and it's easier to find out if the kids are infected by having a peek with a torch after the kids have been sleeping a while. Obviously only a suitable method for young kids who don't easily wake or will drift off quickly.

Our household has had threadworms a few times over the last decade. Envy (not envy) Apparently a very high amount of people can have them at any one time and not be aware at all.

Yep, we did the torch in the dark last night and that’s how we knew. It really wasn’t obvious in their poo. I’ll be checking once a month now too 🤢 Apparently 40% of UK kids carry them at any one time 🤮
