College vs School

So DD got her exam results yesterday, plus her place in 6th form. However, she seems really keen on a college course. She's applied late but has an interview next week. She's got the grades needed.

The college is about 90 mins away on 2 buses, I don't think this is a good move, 3 hours a day travelling (at least), plus the early start say 6am to get the bus. The buses to the town go once an hour, so if you miss it you're late.

We're going to get the bus for the interview to show her what it will be like, allowing plenty of time.

The course looks really interesting, but courses of a similar nature exist for post 18. Also I'm really surprised they still have spaces on the course: it looks interesting plus entry grades are fairly low 3s and 4s.

I'm worried she'll start this course then find the travelling (and early starts) too much. Anyone been in a similar situation?

We have a college in our town but my eldest chose to go to the college an hours bus drive away. Think it was for more of a 'campus' experience and a chance to meet people they werent at school with. The bus journey wasnt a problem - its time to do homework/reading etc. Did cost me £500 a year for bus pass though ! See how the meeting goes and how she feels after ?
