Oh my goddd how do you hang pictures??

I don’t mean the ones that require one hook. I mean larger ones with a hook on each side. How do you know where to hammer the hook into the wall? How do you make it match up and straight?? Arghhh!

To do a gallery wall you need to lay them all out on the floor, masking tape off the area the size of the wall. Use a metal tape measure. Lay the frames out exactly how you want them, measure your gaps, spend time doing this as it pays off in the end. Then, flip all your frames over in their spaces. Then using your tape measure, measure where you want your hooks to be, eg. Hook 1 will be 20 Cm from the ceiling and 10 Cm from the wall, then mark it on the wall. Do them all like this, adding each one. Don't do it by eye. It takes hours but it's sooooo worth it, a wonky gallery wall is not good at all!

I'm sure there probably is an actual way to do this but this is my tried and tested method!

I use an interior designer, and he is full of tips etc.
He says pictures should be at eye level, so the middle of them around 5’6”. This made a big difference when I put pictures up, we had been hanging them too high. They look better at eye level.
Also, if you want a group of photos all differing sizes, imagine a rectangle on the wall, and put the pictures in whatever way you like as long as 4 corners are outlining your rectangle, if that makes sense?
