I am 44. I am seeing a cycle develop. I get 2 days we're I am so tired I have to force myself to move. Then I have two days we're I could eat my children if they sit still long enough and I gorge on everything and anything I can get my hands on. Then I have two days we're I feel so utterly depressed I again have to force myself to move. Then it all passes and I'm ok for a couple weeks before it all starts again. I have an implant in which expired in November and I'm having it removed in three weeks (local waiting list) I'm on mini pill in mean time. I have been told by doc this is not causing these problems. It's my age.

Is anyone else feeling this and can u recommend something to ease it.

Thanks in advance.

I know exactly what you mean. Couldn't keep my eyes open past 6pm. Fell in a heap dead to the work for a couple of hours. Dunno what to suggest but fingers crossed because I have adenomyosis will be having a hysterectomy soon but that's a drastic option

Oh so after the op will they give you HRT? When I went to see my GP she told me to take B6 and Magnesium but 2 months later it's making no difference.

I can't take anything hormone based as it really does not suit. I still get bad pms though - really bad lethargy in the build up to my period. Once it starts it's like a blanket being lifted off me.

‘It’s your age’!

How dismissive! I’m older than 44 and haven’t experienced this.

I’ve never taken the pill.

Sounds like perimenopause - could you come off the mini pill - it's well known fo increasing appetite and lethargy?

berrymummy11 · 23/08/2019 09:45

Oh I didn't realise that the mini pill was known for tiredness and hunger! That's interesting. I will be coming off it soon when I get my implant out. I'll just get a new one in.
