I have recently applied for a promoted post at another public body as I work in the public sector. One of my colleagues today let it slip at a team meeting that they had been looking at this other body's values which I thought was strange to say but this values thing was part of one the questions on the competency based application form. I think he's applied too for the job but unsure whether to ask him that and disclose to him that I have applied too. We are fairly friendly in work but I don't see him out of work nor do I have his number. I have far more experience than him so will be pretty pissed off if he gets an interview and I don't! Do you think it's worth letting on to him I've applied or just keep under my hat just now?

Why on earth would you say anything?

ThatCurlyGirl · 22/08/2019 17:33

Why would you tell him you've also applied? I don't understand the benefit to either of you by doing so.

Surely just concentrate on your own application process and see what happens?

Why would you? That's just silly.

Getting an interview comes down to SO much more than just experience

You’re also just assuming he has applied with no basis

Do not say anything
